This course for parents of school aged children is relevant to any parent wanting to support their child with literacy and learning, whether diagnosed with dyslexia or not. We’ll cover reading, spelling, writing, assistive technology, working memory and processing, learning how to learn, exams, and thinking positively about dyslexia. The focus is supportive; you’ll not be told to do more than you can or to get lots of extra lessons arranged! Instead, you’ll be shown some actionable strategies for how to support your child.
This course will take you about two hours in total, consisting of 8 separate lessons, with an online quiz or game after each one to help you consolidate what you learned. You can do the lessons all at once or over a period of time. You’ll be given some free downloadable resources as well as a list of organisations and companies to seek further support and resources.
You have 90 days to complete the course.
