Morph Mastery for Small Groups is a powerful new adaptation of the successful Morph Mastery 1:1 intervention – now reimagined to support small groups of learners aged 9 to 13 who are still struggling with spelling despite quality phonics teaching.
This course equips school staff with the confidence and practical resources to deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned intervention sessions that make a real difference in spelling, vocabulary, and reading confidence.

You WILL be required to have a copy of my Morph Mastery Book and if. you don’t already have it you may get it with with a 20% discount from the Routledge website. Additionally you can purchase some additional resources (minimum cost is £10) in order to develop the intervention. Further resources will be available to purchase at additional cost, but these will also be available to download and print for free.
FAQs
How often does the intervention take place and for how long?
The lessons are 45 minutes twice a week, but can be adapted
Who delivers the intervention?
It can be delivered by a well qualified teaching assistant with a firm grasp of English, or a teacher. It’s strongly advised that a SENCO or literacy lead oversees the intervention.
Will there be homework?
Yes, you will have tasks to complete in between the sessions, please allow approximately 1 -2 hours to complete this
Are there any extra costs?
Participants will need to purchase the Morph Mastery book and some additional resources (minimum cost £10) in order to develop the intervention. Further resources will be available to purchase at additional cost, but these will also be available to download and print for free.
How does this course differ from the Morph Mastery Intervention Training?
They are similar, but this course shows you how to deliver the intervention for small groups. If you have small groups of struggling learners who are at roughly the same level, this course is for you. If you are working with a child with very persistent difficulties, the other course, Morph Mastery Intervention Training is for you.
I have done the 1:1 intervention training course. Can I attend for a reduced price?
Yes, if you have already attended the 1:1 intervention training course you can attend Sessions 3, 4, and 5 at the reduced cost of £100
How long will I have access to the sessions?
The sessions will be available to you for life.
Does Morph Mastery align with government recommendations for spelling?
Yes, the intervention is based on the National Curriculum for Spelling. The DfE Writing Framework also recommends explicit teaching of morphology to support those who are still struggling with spelling in spite of high quality teaching.
